Genetización, sociedad y servicios genéticos

El termino ‘genetización’ alude a algo mas que a los avances en genética y su importancia para la medicina y la biología. Con el se quiere significar que estos avances están modificando cruciales conceptos antropológicos, filosóficos y sociales. Así, según la genetización, la persona hoy debería ser concebida como la ejecución inexorable del programa contenido en su genoma y no la realización de un proyecto que nace en parte de decisiones libres y situaciones contingentes. En esta contribución intentamos: (i) descalificar algunas falsas creencias contenidas en la ideología de la genetización y (ii) explorar si efectivamente hay conceptos sociales fundamentales que están siendo modificados por los avances de la genética y la medicina molecular. Finalmente, identificamos uno de tales conceptos, lo que parcialmente acredita la tesis de la genetización.
