This article analyzes, from a critical perspective, the policy process during the presidency of Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2022). From a perspective based on public policy theory, this paper aims to understand the decisions made during this presidential term. It is argued that the government carried out an agenda focused on dismantling previously institutionalized public policies. The article studies several examples and examines the distinctive features of a Bolsonarist public policy style, including the preeminence of ideology over scientific evidence. In addition, the paper discusses how these new dynamics of planning, operation, and management blur the very notion of public policies.
